Appointment Details
Thank you for booking a pregnancy/postnatal appointment with Door to Door Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy! Here are some details to help you prepare on the day:
The appointment fee is €150.00. This can be paid by cash or via Revolut on the day of the appointment.
The appointment itself will take approximately 1 hour with an additional 15-30 mins of setting up/ packing up.
The appointment will be a home visit. I will contact you prior for your exact address/Eircode. You will receive an appointment confirmation and a reminder email the day before your appointment.
The Assessment:
I will first ask some questions about your pregnancy/birth , health history, general health. I will also ask some questions to screen for any pelvic floor issues, exercise goals you may have etc. I will then go through some practical tips and day to day advice to help with your pregnancy/labour/postnatal recovery .
For the physical assessment where it is indicated I will check the movement of your spine , your posture, your hip mobility, your tummy muscles and your pelvic floor muscles.
I will have a physiotherapy plinth (bed) with me and all equipment.
As part of the assessment there is an option to have a pelvic floor assessment, depending on you needs.
Pelvic Floor Assessment:
A pelvic floor assessment is an internal vaginal examination of the pelvic floor muscles , provided you are comfortable with this. It is not a necessity but can be beneficial. You might want to bear this in mind when choosing a suitable room to set up in in your home.
You must be at least 20 weeks pregnant or six weeks postnatal, and fully healed, to carry out a pelvic floor assessment. For a pregnancy pelvic floor assessment there are additional questions I will also ask you prior to your appointment to assess your suitability for this.
We will have lots of time during the appointment to answer questions specific to your needs. It is no problem to have your baby with you , I can always accomodate this.
After the appointment I will email you some information from the session.
If required, I do also offer follow up appointments for a fee of €100.
