About Me

My name is Aoife Magner and I am a pelvic health and maternity physiotherapist.
What does that mean?
I have over eight years training and experience working in pelvic floor physiotherapy, treating issues with bladder control, bowel control, prolapse and fitting pessaries, pelvic pain, painful periods and sexual pain.
I’ve also worked with ‘maternity’ patients so I can treat pregnancy and postnatal specific issues such as diastasis of the rectus abdominals, pelvic girdle pain and postnatal rehabilitation.
My training?
I completed my physiotherapy degree in University College Dublin. After I finished my training I moved to New Zealand where I worked for four years in New Zealand’s largest general and maternity hospital in Auckland, Auckland City Hospital. Here I began to specialise in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. I also trained as a Pilates instructor and enjoyed teaching pregnancy and postnatal Pilates classes.
Over four years ago I returned to Dublin and began working in a large maternity hospital in Dublin where I still work currently treating a variety of maternity and gynaecology patients. Here the idea for ‘Door to Door Pelvic Floor’ was born, as I saw first-hand the hassle postnatal mums had in attending their physiotherapy appointments!
I am and have always been really passionate about pelvic health . It is my goal to help mothers feel safe and supported in their postnatal recovery and to help them return to the things that they love, whatever that looks like .
Outside of work I’m an outdoorsy gal and I LOVE exercise. Mostly I love the benefits of exercise and I feel strongly that we should be able to do the exercise we love, confidently and comfortably .
I’ve dabbled in boxing, sprint triathlons, Gaelic football, running, yoga.. the list goes on! My first and forever love is Pilates . I am trained as a mat and reformer Pilates instructor.
